FADE IN
EXT. STREET - DAY
A father and his very young son (8) walk along the sidewalk of an industrial barren street. The father holds his son by his hand.
FATHER
When I was in the grocery store I saw another kid that looked just like you. I grabbed him by his hand and told him that we had to leave. The kid started yelling at me and telling me ‘I’m not your son! Let me go’ I told him to shut up. I kept dragging him along, his mom came up to me and yelled ‘What are you doing!?’ I couldn’t respond. I realized that this wasn’t you. She then slapped me. I let him go and I left the grocery store.
SON
Why did you do that?
FATHER
I don’t know, I was confused. He looked just like you.
SON
You have to control your temper.



Memory #2
FADE IN
EXT. OUTSIDE OF HOUSE - DAY
A young boy (8) and his mother bring him to the front of a door. The mother carries a meal in her hands. The mother knocks on the door. An old lady opens, clearly distressed.
She has pajamas on and unkempt hair. She struggles to walk up to the mother.
OLD WOMAN
No! Don’t let the kid see me like this! Please.
The young boy hearing this turns around and faces away from the old woman. He hears crying from the old woman.



Memory #3
FADE IN
EXT. OUTSIDE OF CHURCH - DAY
A young child (8) is sitting outside of a church with his father who sits beside him looking down, saddened. Both of them are wearing black suits.
The father faces the ground and speaks.
FATHER
My father was a great man. But he was not an educated man. The highest level of education he achieved was grade school. He never knew anything about the world. He left this world knowing just about as much as when he was a child.
The father turns to face his child.
FATHER
I do not want you to be like him. I’m not even sure if I would want you to be like me.
The son waits for a little. He starts to shed tears. He cries.

Memory #4
FADE IN
EXT. SOCCER FIELD - DAY
A young child (8) plays little league soccer. He sees a kid run past him with the ball. He tackles him with no concern of going for the ball and knocks him to the ground.
The referee blows his whistle and gives the child a yellow card. The child turns to the person he tackled who is still on the ground, clearly hurt.
CHILD
You’re a bitch.


Memory #5
FADE IN
EXT. OUTSIDE OF HOUSE - DAY
A young boy (8) sits with his mother. His mother cries and starts scolding him.
MOTHER
You’re failing everything, all your teachers complain about you, you don’t pay attention in class, you can’t sit still, you’re a nuisance to everyone in your class. You have a C in Spanish and you know Spanish. The school doesn’t want to have you anymore. You’re failing.
The mother starts staring into the boys soul. the young boy looks down at the ground.
MOTHER
What do you have to say for yourself?


Memory #6
FADE IN
EXT. PLAYGROUND - DAY
A young boy (8) fights with another boy. The young boy is clearly losing and getting punched continuously. The young boy regardless keeps fighting with the hope that he can eventually win.
The young boy takes a hard punch. He falls to the ground. He cannot get back up. He starts bleeding profusely from his head and his nose. Another boy comes and pours a water bottle on him.
The young boy keeps fighting.
