Matias Ardila is a photographer, filmmaker, and artist who was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is currently pursuing an advertising Photography BFA at the rochester Institute of Technology. he is primarily a portrait photographer and loves to collaborate with models to create an impactful and memorable image. 
He likes to approach photography as if he was creating a movie and loves to explore what kind of story he can show through a single frame or a series of frames. He loves creating sets, lighting scenes, directing models, composing photographs and film videos/movies. He is noted as an extremely hard worker and someone who is dedicated to creating the best photograph possible no matter what kind of prompt or assignment he is given. 
Beside taking portraits or videos he likes to create larger stories with his photography which relate to his experience as a latino immigrant who grew up in new orleans. For example, Armadillo Thoughts #2 speaks about the reaction of the United States Government to Katrina, Che Guevara's death, and the Chilean coup of 1973 where Pinochet became dictator of Chile. Armadillo Thoughts #3 speaks of a murder mystery that covers the discrimination of Latino people, the gentrification of cities, and the growing class divide in America.
