STORY:
Luna’s mother wore an expensive pearl necklace which was laced with 18 karat white gold. Amelia sometimes wore a plastic, fake pearl necklace.
06/14/21 - Luna gets a knock at the door. When she answers she sees a middle aged, tired looking woman. The woman stands there in complete silence before finally saying “Did you know Amelia?” Luna tries to keep her calm during this confrontation. Luna apologizes and says no.
06/15/21 - Luna receives a picture of her old elementary school in her mailbox. When she goes to visit it she sees the school abandoned.
06/15/21 - Luna tells Thiago that the only Amelia she knows is the one from elementary school. She admits that one day she accidentally pushed Amelia into a metal bar in the playground where she saw her bleed profusely. Luna starts to think about whether Amelia died that day or not. Luna decides to look for Amelia, she does not remember anything beside her first name.
06/18/21 - Luna tries to look for a yearbook from the year with her and Amelia which she does not find. Luna asks her mother about what happened with Amelia. Luna’s mother once again berates her.
06/20/21 - Luna’s house has a rock thrown at it. The person who did it is unknown. Luna continues to get notes and items sent to her house.
06/26/21 - Luna’s mother opens a brand new multi-use building. Luna’s mother hosts a party which Luna invites Thiago to.
06/30/21 - At the party Luna is offered a job working at the cafe of the building. At first she declines but her mother takes her apart and tells her to accept the offer or she’ll be kicked out. Luna accepts. Thiago has to call his mom at the party, he speaks Spanish which Luna’s mother hears. Luna’s mother asks Thiago not to speak Spanish inside of the house which gravely upsets Thiago. Luna tries to calm him down but Thiago doesn’t listen and leaves.
07/01/21 - Luna remembers that there was a person in her high school that attended the same elementary school Amelia attended. Luna reaches out to that person.
07/03/21 - Luna meets with the person who only has the yearbook from 2010 which she finds has two people named Amelia Boudreaux which is also her last name. She finds that one of the people in the yearbook looks like her.
07/06/21 - Luna goes to Thiago’s home which is a lower-income place. While on her way there she sees some protests for the new building her mom is opening. Once there she apologizes and asks Thiago to move into a new apartment with her. Thiago is very hesitant but eventually agrees.
07/10/21 - Luna starts her new job at the building which has plenty of protests outside. Halfway through her shift a brick is thrown through the window nearly hitting her. While leaving the building she hears someone screaming “Why did you kill my daughter?!” When Luna looks at the audience she sees the same woman who talked to her. Luna attempts to chase after her but loses her in the audience.
07/10/21 - Luna starts imagining that people are calling her Amelia.
07/12/21 - Luna looks in the yearbook again and looks at the principal in the yearbook. Luna looks her up and gets in touch with her.
07/14/21 - Luna meets with the principal who tells her that both her and Amelia had the same name and Luna’s mother changed her name after Amelia dies. Which confirms that Amelia did die and that her mother covered it all up. Luna killed Amelia by accidentally pushing her too hard into metal monkey bars, she cracked her head open and the blunt force killed her upon impact. The lawsuit from Amelia’s mother closed the school and Luna changed her name to not be associated with the event.
07/14/21 - Luna confronts her mother about it and the two end the argument agreeing never to talk about it again. Both of their mental health deteriorate after this moment.
07/15/21 - Luna and Thiago move into an apartment far away from her mother’s home and Luna continues her job at the building. Thiago and Luna’s relationship falls apart and both of them start consistently fighting.
10/28/21 - Thiago finds the yearbook and finds that Amelia was his childhood friend and neighbor.
10/28/21 - When Thiago confronts Luna the confrontation gets loud and violent.
10/28/21 - A dead body was reported in Luna and Thiago’s apartment. The dead person was found with his head cracked open. The blunt force killed him upon impact.
